Where Has All The Kibble Gone?
Sad Kitty
Long ago, in an old messy warehouse filled with giant bales of scrap paper, dusty cardboard boxes, and human workers, there lived a sad kitty. Ill-fed, she made her way as best she could, drinking from puddles and hunting to compensate for what little cat-food a few people gave her when they thought of her at all. She was mostly a wild cat, but her life was miserable.
She had a horrible growth inside her skull. Whatever its cause, she couldn't walk straight or see straight; the abscess in her head was big and obvious. She staggered, unable to climb or stalk properly. To see anyone well, she had to skew her neck down and look up, contorted, her twisted posture compounded by stroke-numbed limbs. Her balance was shot, her eyesight was shot, she couldn't even play or run like a regular cat. She was slow, vulnerable, and in a lot of pain.
But she never knew how bad-off she was. Life itself was trying enough, no matter what her place on some feline social scale somewhere. She slept where she liked, always in dirt. She ate what she could. She lived the only life she had, weary and sad. No one ever took her to the vet. She never knew that there was a whole outer world where people kept cats as pampered pets, where people loved cats and tended to their health. She never had an owner. She never knew that she didn't have to be sick, she never even knew that she was sick.
She never had a name.
Then she was dead. And still no one cared. No one disposed of her body. Inevitably she dried-out and mummified in a neglected hidden corner of the warehouse, where she's probably still laying to this day.
You don't solve problems by ignoring them, or with insufficient self-satisfying tactics which make matters worse instead of better. Look at what's happened to America during the last 40 years of Liberal problem solving. Because the problems were never really addressed, they've all gotten worse. Their "War on Poverty" has created more poor than it ever sought to help. Welfare and ADC (which started out as a kind of temporary "unemployment insurance" for the children of war-widows and divorcees) has created more women in poverty and dependent children than it has ever really helped. Their Food-Stamp program has created an entire extraneous army (numbering in the millions) of people who didn't need food stamps until the program was started and promoted. Liberals actually traveled around the country signing up millions of new people onto these giveaways. And, five trillion dollars later, are the problems solved? No, the abscess is worse. When we add our Democratic-encouraged illegal immigration troubles to the diagnosis, the whole mess gets just that much bigger. Then, when we put all the class, gender, and race warfare (the decadent pet-projects of the Leftist social engineers) of the last 40 years into the infection, it becomes a very disturbing, life-threatening condition. And the Democrats' solution is to give them even more power and money to keep their futile, politically correct games alive and expanding. Make no mistake, there's no such thing as a "New Democrat," there's no way of healing this nation with more redistribution, more race or class or gender envy and contempt, more aggrandizing of moral relativism, all of which they've pretended to abandon (but have merely driven under the false facade of free-market friendliness). It's this hidden pus-bubble in the heart of the Democratic party which infects our entire country.
America is staggering around with a big, ugly, evil, Liberal bump on her head. Her balance is shot, her eyesight is shot, and she doesn't even know how sick she is, or how deadly the situation has become. But no one cares. No one even notices. The Liberals feel fine about their self-satisfying non-solutions, the people who truly suffer by these policies never know how bad off they really are, so they live as well as they can, given the continued destructive support of their Liberal sponsors, and thereby make the bigger problem worse. The work in the warehouse goes on, everything is fine. But Sad Kitty is dying.
And when she dies, no one will know. She's not going anywhere. No one will have noticed, so it won't be important. She'll just be over in the corner, dead. There will never be a point in time where/when it mattered whether she lived or not. America is already dead for all we know. When's the last time you saw her? In 10 years, she'll still be here, just a mummy. And no one will care.
Sad Kitty.
